India marked Global Tiger Day on 29th July 2026 to reinforce its focus on tiger conservation through scientific tools, eco-tourism, and community involvement.

World leaders founded this observance at the 2010 St. Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia, where 13 Tiger Range Countries adopted the St. Petersburg Declaration and committed to the TX2 Goal of doubling wild tigers by 2022.
This annual awareness day focuses on protecting natural habitats, ending illegal poaching, building international partnerships, and enabling safe human-tiger coexistence.
