The **Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA)** in Shillong recently organized an awareness webinar on the **Corporate Mitra Scheme** for students, youth, and small businesses in **Arunachal Pradesh**.

The **Corporate Mitra Scheme** is a central initiative that creates a dedicated group of trained para-professionals known as **Corporate Mitras**.
These certified professionals provide accessible accounting, compliance, and business advisory services to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (**MSMEs**).
The initiative functions under the direct administrative scope of the **Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA)**.
It aims to assist **MSMEs** in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities by easing secretarial compliance, improving Ease of Doing Business (**EoDB**), and giving young graduates job-oriented skills.

The government aims to train **2,000** participants across India in the initial phase, reserving **200** seats exclusively for the North Eastern Region (**NER**).
Candidates from the North Eastern states receive a **50% fee concession** on registration and training fees.
Certified **Corporate Mitras** will handle essential non-core operational tasks for small firms, including tax filings, basic accounting, regulatory submissions, and financial paperwork.
The formal training module for candidates is hosted on the central government's official **Swayam Plus** educational portal.
This scheme connects classroom education with market needs, preparing young graduates to serve as qualified para-professionals for local enterprises.

By delegating administrative compliance to certified **Corporate Mitras**, **MSMEs** can avoid penalty fees, reduce regulatory burdens, and concentrate on expanding their core operations.
The program creates skilled employment opportunities for graduates in the Northeast, boosting local entrepreneurship and supporting the **Viksit Bharat @ 2047** vision.
