The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs recently launched TribeX.
This is India's first digital learning platform focused entirely on tribal arts, culture, traditional knowledge, and skill development.

TribeX works as a centralized digital learning system and repository.
It helps preserve, document, and show India's rich tribal culture to the entire world.
This platform serves as an open-access gateway.
It allows students, researchers, and tribal culture lovers worldwide to learn directly from master tribal artisans and native experts.
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs of the Government of India manages and supports this initiative.
The main goal of TribeX is to use technology to remove geographical barriers.
This will empower tribal communities, protect their languages and crafts, and offer sustainable livelihood education.

The platform offers 20 free certificate courses right now.
These courses cover tribal paintings, handicrafts, handloom, and traditional musical instruments.
The government plans to expand this to over 100 courses soon.
It also offers five one-year hybrid postgraduate diploma programmes.
These are recognized by the UGC and launched in partnership with the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University (SSU) in Varanasi.
Specializations include the Santali language using the Ol Chiki script and sustainable tribal culture-based livelihood practices.
Other courses focus on museology, tribal arts, crafts, and tribal textiles.
These diploma courses combine online lectures with compulsory field internships and thesis writing.
This practical training helps students find immediate jobs in design, tourism, curation, and research.
The platform runs on a modern Learning Management System (LMS) and a secure Repository Management System.
These systems make navigation easy, track student progress, and organize knowledge resources safely.
It contains a huge archive of over 5,000 multimedia resources, with plans to reach 10,000.
These include audio recordings, documentaries, and verified writings on tribal festivals, rituals, and rare oral histories from across India.
