Project BRAHMANK of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) marked its 16th Raising Day on 29th June 2026 at Ranaghat, Arunachal Pradesh.
This project was originally created by carving out operational territory from Project Arunank and Project Udayak.
It builds and maintains crucial road networks across Siang, East Siang, West Siang, Upper Siang, and Shi-Yomi districts in Arunachal Pradesh, plus Dhemaji district in Assam.
The project manages around 811 km of road networks along with 86 bridges, which include culverts, steel structures, and major arch bridges.
Key engineering accomplishments include a 100-metre steel arch bridge over Siyom Nallah and a 165-metre PSC bridge over Simang Nallah on the Along-Yingkiong Road.
Beyond aiding armed forces logistics, the initiative connects isolated border villages to the rest of India and boosts regional economic growth.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) serves as India's premier agency for constructing infrastructure in harsh high-altitude and snow-covered regions.
Formed on 7th May 1960 with Project Vartak and Project Beacon, the agency currently manages 18 field projects across 11 States and 3 Union Territories.
It constructs strategic border roads to guarantee all-weather transport for national defence and acts as an immediate disaster response team.
The agency functions under the Ministry of Defence and receives operational guidance from the Border Roads Development Board (BRDB).
Major landmarks built by BRO include the Atal, Sela, and Shinkun La tunnels, key bridges like Sisseri and Devak, and upgraded airfields at Bagdogra and Barrackpore.
International projects like Project DANTAK in Bhutan, the India-Myanmar Friendship Road, and the Delaram-Zaranj Highway in Afghanistan strengthen foreign relations.
