Vinimay works as a centralized and real-time electronic platform that acts as a single window for all operations at international land ports across India.
It matches land border security and trading systems with the modern automated networks currently used at international airports and seaports.
The system integrates cargo tracking, passenger logs, and vehicle processing into one smooth digital workflow.
The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) developed this portal under the administrative guidance of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The main goal of this system is to remove severe logistics bottlenecks and paper-heavy workflows that slow down overland trade.
It connects national regulatory and security databases on a single interface to secure physical borders and stop unauthorized crossings.
By cutting operational costs, the platform aims to boost regional cross-border trade in line with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

The system successfully cuts nearly 90% of all physical paperwork through smart automation.
It lowers truck waiting times at the border by 40% to 60% and reduces total gate processing times by 22% to 35%.
Vinimay connects previously isolated government databases to share real-time information on a single dashboard.
It links with ICEGATE and CBIC for customs filing and financial compliance tracking.
It connects with the BSF for frontline physical border guarding and security verification.
It integrates with UIDAI to conduct quick biometric and identity checks.
It connects with DGFT and ULIP to manage trade licenses and logistics chain visibility.
It links with the National Motor Vehicle System for commercial vehicle tracking.
The platform uses advanced Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera systems at all entry and exit gates.
This camera technology matches arriving vehicles with pre-booked slots automatically, removing manual logbook entries and reducing human intervention.
The portal currently coordinates operations across 15 active land ports in India.
It has built-in structural capacity to onboard 11 additional land ports over the next 3 years.
