Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the creation of the first overseas campus of IIM Bangalore in Indonesia.
This announcement came during the Prime Minister's official visit to Jakarta.
The new campus will sit inside the Singhasari Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
It will start by offering executive education programmes and will later expand to full degree courses.

The IIM Bangalore (Singhasari) Campus is the very first international branch of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
This campus aims to improve management education, research, and leadership skills across the entire ASEAN region.

The campus aims to offer top-quality management education and leadership training to professionals in Indonesia and other ASEAN nations.
It also wants to strengthen educational ties between India and Indonesia through research, innovation, and faculty exchanges.

The project will roll out in phases, starting with short executive courses before launching full management degrees.
The curriculum focuses on modern topics like AI, digital transformation, global supply chains, climate sustainability, and healthcare.
Students will access online learning tools, including the digital courses of SWAYAM and IIM Bangalore's own online platform.
The institution will serve as a regional hub for student exchange, policy partnerships, and direct links with industries.

This move strengthens the strategic partnership between India and Indonesia while expanding India's soft power in Southeast Asia.
It helps build skilled business leaders in the Global South and turns Indonesia into a regional center for management studies.
