About The e-Jagriti Platform
- e-Jagriti is an advanced and paperless digital portal that modernizes how consumer courts deliver justice across the country.
- The platform uses modern technology to remove the need for physical paperwork and shifts all dispute handling into a virtual space.
- The Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution designed and launched this digital initiative.
- The portal officially started working on January 1, 2025.
- The main goal of the platform is to clear the huge pile of pending cases in consumer commissions and make grievance redressal much faster.
- It helps make justice easy to reach so that any Indian citizen or Non-Resident Indian (NRI) can hold businesses accountable from anywhere in the world.
Key Features of the Platform
- The digital system brings four older software models together into one cloud-based data platform.
- The portal successfully merges four historical software systems named OCMS, e-Daakhil, NCDRC CMS, and CONFONET into a single layout.
- It uses advanced artificial intelligence tools like an automated chatbot, voice-to-text typing for filing, and tracking dashboards for lawyers and judges.
- The platform includes special profiles for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to register easily from different countries.
- During its short operational time, the system registered 3,312 Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from countries like the USA, UK, UAE, and Canada.
- A secure cashless payment system connects directly to financial gateways like Bharat Kosh, PayGov, and SBI ePay.
- Video conferencing is the default standard for court hearings, allowing digital document sharing and secure OTP logins.
- The virtual setup connects all benches of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) along with 35 State Commissions.
- An automated alert system sent nearly 20 lakh SMS alerts and over 37 lakh email updates to keep litigants informed about their cases.
