The award covers both ocean conservation like removing lost fishing nets and land initiatives like water-saving farming and agricultural groups.
It combines scientific guidance from MSSRF, corporate support from CavinKare, and community outreach through the Rotary Club.
It promotes the Evergreen Revolution vision of Dr. M.S. Swaminathan by encouraging farm output growth alongside nature protection.

P. Pechiyammal from Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu led community teams to remove abandoned ghost nets from coasts and ocean waters.
Her efforts in removing ghost nets protected coral reefs, sea turtles, and fish populations from getting trapped and killed.
Govindhammal from Villupuram, Tamil Nadu promoted organic farming, improved soil health, and spread climate-smart farming techniques.
She strengthened local Farmer Producer Companies to help small farmers get better market prices and stronger bargaining power.
