The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) successfully helped send India's first-ever commercial export shipment of dried whole egg powder to Austria from Balangir, Odisha.

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is a top statutory export promotion organization under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
It acts as the main agency for building international trade channels, setting quality rules, and growing global markets for Indian agricultural and processed foods.
The government set up APEDA under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act passed by Parliament in December 1985.

The main goal is to boost India's farm export potential by helping export-oriented agro-processing industries grow.
It aims to make Indian food products more competitive globally and replace low-value raw exports with high-value processed goods.
It also works to meet strict international food safety rules and improve financial earnings for domestic farmers and agro-entrepreneurs.

It gives targeted financial support to registered exporters to modernize processing units, upgrade lab testing facilities, and adopt quality management systems.
It conducts international market surveys, coordinates global trade fairs, manages buyer-seller meets, and leads virtual flagging events to open new export routes in premium areas like the European Union.
It monitors and improves the export lifecycle of designated items, including fruits, vegetables, meat products, poultry, dairy, confectionery, biscuits, and bakery items.
It works directly with state departments, district offices, and private industries to build strong, export-led agro-processing systems in rural and developing regions.

Converting eggs into spray-dried powder increases shelf life, reduces transport costs, and helps Indian poultry exporters earn higher value from processed goods.
