Privacy at a glance

The short version

The score calculator works without an account. Marks you enter stay in your own browser until you choose to save a score, and a saved score is what makes the community rank and percentile charts possible. Signing in with Google is needed only for the Mains answer writing program, for a library that syncs across your devices, and for downloading a current affairs PDF.

Email addresses are never sold, rented, published or shared with coaching institutes. Nothing that identifies you personally appears on any public chart.

What is collected

• If you sign in: your Google email address, display name, profile photo URL and the account identifier Google returns.
• If you save a score: the options you marked, the computed score and its breakdown, your answer sheet series, and the category and gender you selected, which are what make a category-wise rank estimate possible.
• If you use the answer writing program: the answers you submit and your practice record.
• On every request, for security: IP address, a device identifier generated in your browser, the user agent string, anti-bot verification tokens and request timestamps. These exist to stop automated abuse and duplicate submissions.

Why it is collected

• To compute a score against the reference and coaching answer keys.
• To build the aggregated distributions that produce a rank and percentile estimate for everyone using the platform.
• To keep the platform working: rate limits, bot verification and fraud detection.
• To send exam notifications and updates to registered addresses.

What is shared, and what never is

Aggregated and anonymised statistics are public by design: score distributions, percentile bands and how often each option was chosen for a question. That is the whole point of a community rank estimate, and it is what lets one candidate learn something from thousands of others.

Your email address, your Google account identifier and your private account tokens are never displayed publicly, never sold and never passed to a commercial coaching institute. Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encrypted transport.

Your rights, and how to use them

• See what is held about you, from your account dashboard.
• Correct anything inaccurate, from the same place or by email.
• Delete your account and your saved responses, by emailing the Grievance Officer.
• Withdraw consent at any time, after which your personal account records are purged from the active databases.

One honest limitation: once a score has been folded into the anonymised historical baseline that the rank charts are computed from, that anonymous number stays in the baseline. It is no longer linked to you and cannot be traced back, but removing it would silently distort the estimates other candidates already rely on.
